FLO-CAL 5000

Not reading in range , range 1000 to 2000, but only able to get up 740. Burn camber temperature reading is higher than usual at 300 degrees, approximately 70 degrees higher. Why? Since the reading is based on amount of air flow to restore fletcher, then a lack of sufficient air? What component should be replaced/ repaired first?
