6000TOCi calibration

We have a new Mettler 6000TOCi with Mettler 800 installed on a purified water system. When beginning a calibration or system suit, should we close the valve from the water system first? Or does the meter shut off outside flow automatically during calibration? Thank you for any help you can give me.

When we calibrate, we disconnect the water source from the system and connect the calibration test pump directly to the 6000TOCi analyzer. Important: between each sample test, allow an adequate time after turning on the pump for the flow rate to stabilize before continuing the test sample.
