Robinair VacuMaster 15800 sucking oil through inlet into tube

I was using a Robinair VacuMaster 15800 on a vacuum purge and i noticed it was spewing out a lot of exhaust or smoke which i know is just oil but the reason being is i accidentally had the pump sitting on the inlet tube that connects the purge to the vacuum pump. When it was removed and turned off it sucked through a bunch of oil that fortunately just stayed in the tube and is closed off either side. Not sure if i broke the Vacuum pump or if i can just remove the oil from the tube, clean it out, and put more oil in and it be fine . Or are there any other steps i need to take to ensure its functioning properly before using again. Thanks in advance!
