I/O error

We have a MARS6 Digestion System from CEM. Our unit has an I/O error and asks for a restart. I can't get to the home page to do a restart, my only option is to power it down. Any suggestions on what would cause the I/O error? and any idea how to do a restart?

Check the Ethernet cable and the USB cable for any damage or loose connection. Make sure the system is connected to a stable network and a compatible computer.
