Calibration Request

Well Bechman no longer support the LS6000 or LS65000. We have a customer that needs to perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance. We don't have much knowledge of these systems. Does anybody have a process to perform basic calibration and alignments? The customer was seeing some higher background readings but only one one or two of them. I read in the manual that you should just place the C14 and press Start .as per this video. Is this it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71-JsnDF9Lc&t=36s

Are you the person that posted about having me come out to San Diego to work on your LSC? I'm having trouble getting to the post so if you can please provide me with a good email address and I will get back to you thru email. Don

Are you in San Diego? You can reach Don at walkingscrewdriver (at) protonmail (dot) com. I’m at UCSB and was able to get my system partially functioning using his previous posts. Your post asking where he is in Ohio seems to disappear every time I look for it. He reached out to me because your message disappeared! Good luck - I’d love to meet him if you bring him out, unfortunately my boss and I have both retired and are trying to finish up some projects so we don’t have any funding to get Don to Santa Barbara. Take care, Janice Jones (Marine Science Inst, UCSB)

Hello Janice, Thank you for his contact. Yes we are located in San Diego but travel most of California, I was just in Santa Barbara on Friday at the university for some work. We try to keep some of this knowledge around as most of these companies have forgotten these systems.

It would be great to keep the institutional knowledge :) The machine works great, I have no reason to consider trashing it except that for a while it would only count blue racks. I used Don's info and was able to get the spacing for the white racks to work but now the blue ones don't work. It's not a big deal as I have carrier vials I can use to count 7mL but it would be nice if someone knew how to fix it. Pretty sure there are at least 2 more of these counters here on campus! Please keep me in the loop ja (underscore) jones (at) ucsb (dot) edu is the info. Thanx, Janice
