Beckman Coulter - Optima™ L-90 K D62 error

I have a Optima with a D62 error, Will not go into override tests. The vacuum pump pulls down to 7 Micron when connected to just a vacuum gauge Solid 200 Micron at over 20 minutes trying to run a 30k cycle diffusion pump is never requested. When a run is started no RPM is shown then drive error is set.

The D62 diagnostic indicates that there is a problem with the TACH signal. You need to verify the spacing of the TACH assembly to the underside of the drive hub. It should be 0.070" or 1.8mm. That spacing is critical and without a proper TACH signal the centrifuge will never run properly no matter what the vacuum reads. You may have a bad TACH sensor or even an electronics failure that is not registering the TACH signal. You also need to clean any excess oil out from underneath the drive hub by first folding up an edge of a paper towel and pushing it up underneath the drive hub while rotating the hub. Then, wet an edge of the towel with 95% ethanol and do the same thing and you may need to repeat that depending on how dirty the hub is. Be advised that until the RPM's get above 3200 RPM the diffusion pump will not turn on but it is a little unusual for the main vacuum pump to not pull down below 200u on its own. Hope this helps. Don
