Rotor error- rotor detection fails
Hi all,
I have a strange problem in the J-25 centrifuge. This has been happening for a while now on and off, but it doesn't resolve at all now. When we put in a rotor, set the rpm, temp, rotor ID etc and start the run, it starts up and reaches a particular rpm and then suddenly the "Rotor" light starts to flash along with beeping. And the centrifuge starts to decelerate extremely slowly. I have tried with a JA-18, JA-10, JA-25.50 rotors and it gives the same problem with each of these, although at different rpms. To be specific, the rpms are way below the highest rated rpms. The error starts usually around 2000 to 3000 rpm depending on the rotor. The rotor detection fails to work, usually remaining --- until the point of the error, or showing a very different rotor than the one that is set and loaded. For some reason, the JA-20.1 rotor works fine.
Is there some way to solve the problem? What is the root cause of this issue?
@Don (dpkleessr) in case you're reading this, I have gone through your other answers in the past and they have been immensely helpful in solving other problems with this machine, like correcting the SYS error etc. I would be much obliged if you could help me out with this one. I remember reading in one of your answers that you had posted something about reinitializing the machine, but after searching for it for a long time, I still couldn't find it. If you think that would solve the problem, could you please link that post here?
Thanks!!
