Working of LFA 447 NanoFlash for a Two Layer Sample

I am working on thermal diffusivites of Zirconia which is deposited on Stainless Steel. I wanted to know how exactly the machine works for a two layer sample. For substrate I am using Cowan method and for the coating of Zirconia 2l heatloss model.

Hello, The LFA measures the temperature rise of the sample after pulse heating and fits it to a transient heat flow model for two layers (2L heatloss) using inputs for the layer thicknesses, substrate thermophysical properties and zirconia specific heat and density. The fitting result is the zirconia thermal diffusivity which can be used to calculate thermal conductivity. For more details you can contact me directly at NETZSCH at robert.campbell@netzsch.com.

Hello Robert, Thanks a lot for your help. I was wondering if I could get a detailed methodology on the one layer 'Cowan+pulse correction' and the '2L heat loss model'. Thanking you again for all your cooperation. Yours Sincerely Rishi
