Standard Chromatogram

I bought 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibezo-p-dioxin, Cat number 48599, Lot number 48599. I have been trying to develop a GC-ECD method but i have failed to get a peak. I can see the certificate of compositio states that it can be determined by GC-FID, i've tried that but it seems i'm not winning. May you kindly send me a standard chromatogram and method for the determination of this standard

I think firstly you have to look at the concentration of your standard. Many dioxin standards are manufactured for HRMS analysis and you may not have enough sensitivity to see it with ECD. I've seen people confuse pg/L with µg/L and then it's no wonder they can't see peaks as the standard is 1,000,000 times more dilute than they thought it was... After consideration and looking at the specs for the standard you should be easily able to see the TCDD. What specific column and GC program are being used? It could be that you are looking to early or too late for the peak... This response was provided by C. Robinson
