SANYO Expands Line of Environmental Testing Chambers with MIR-554

14.3 cu. ft. Refrigerated Incubator / Environmental Testing Chamber Wood Dale, IL, March 16, 2010 – SANYO North America Corporation (SANYO) Biomedical and Environmental Solutions Division is expanding its line of Environmental Testing Chamber series with the introduction of the MIR-554 14.3 cu. ft. Refrigerated Incubator / Environmental Testing Chamber. The new unit offers precise temperature control for accurate, repeatable conditions, a comprehensive alarm system, and is intelligently designed to simplify the entire process. The MIR Series an ideal choice for a broad range of applications from incubation of microorganisms, determinations of wastewater (B.O.D.); fermentation studies; bacterial culturing; mycology studies; culture of plant cells, tissue and organs; incubation of plant/fish cells (zebrafish); drosphila; crystallography; planaria; electronic testing; food testing; and packaging testing. The MIR-554 is available now by contacting a SANYO Biomedical sales representative. “The MIR-554 offers advantages in its step programming for multiple testing conditions that can be set ahead of time and run at timed intervals,” said Matt Siebert, Product Development Manager. “The programming is intuitive, more efficiently maximizing the researcher’s time, day or night.” Precise Temperature Control for Accurate, Repeatable Conditions SANYO MIR series incubators are recognized as exceptional units suitable for a number of applications requiring a -10ºC to +60ºC environment. With control up to ±0.1°C, programs can be customized for a variety of temperatures, humidity and lighting patterns. Chamber temperature uniformity is ±0.5°C, programmable with 12 step, 10 program capabilities to meet user needs. Comprehensive Alarm System Samples are consistently monitored and maintained by the Automatic Setting Temperature Alarm which alerts users upon a temperature deviation of more than ±1? to ±5?degrees. Independent over-temperature protection provides a backup circuit and sensor in the rare case of a temperature abnormality. Programmed memory backup allows data to be stored for up to 5 hours after a power source interruption. The Auto-return mechanism returns temperature to normal indicator. Also provided is a self-diagnosing troubleshooting monitor and key lock. Intelligent Design The unit includes a high-precision microprocessor controller combined with a heater P.I.D. and compressor On/Off system. The pop-up LCD menu can be set to display current conditions (temperature, date, time- 12 or 24 hour), alarm condition, status of door and light, or program setting options, as well as up to 2 weeks of data. HCFC-free foam-in-place polyurethane is used in the chamber because of its high thermal retention and energy saving properties. A triple-pane glass operation window and programmable 15W fluorescent lamp are provided for easy sample observation during experimentation.
