Perkin Elmer Optima 2100 DV (ICP)

Our lab uses a dual-view perkin elmer ICP.

Recently, we have had issues with aligning the view. We would align the view with calcium every morning in the radial view and axial view. Typically this would behave "normally." The intensity would peak at approx. 45000 near the center viewing point of each axis (0 for the vertical axis and 15 for the horizontal axis)

Recently, the highest intensity has been reading the peak intensity at the outer limits of the alignment axes. It then aligns the view incorrectly, and when reading metals in our calibration standards, it reads the analytes at much lower intensities than is typical.

Has anyone worked with this machine and have any suggestions for what could be causing this?

Hello dwassall,

If the instrument view is as far out as you're describing you should contact your local PerkinElmer service engineer about a repair visit. In the U.S. you can call 1-800-762-4000 to set up a service call. If you are outside the U.S. you can find your local PerkinElmer office or dealer here: http://www.perkinelmer.com/aboutus/contactus/contactus.aspx

I have used both 3100 and 7300 but not a 2100. I am assuming you have axial and ranial windows? May try cleaning them. Aalso try a extended search. When you do you alignment there shoudl be a box to check called extended. This will look further out to see if it's out there.
