bfb tune

I actually have a HP 5971 GCMS that is having some tuning issues. It started having problems on the BFb tune with ion 75 failing high (70-80%) and the 50-95 is also high (40-50%) I cleaned the source last friday and the problem has gotten worse not better.

So what do I need to do to fix this? Is it a cleaning issue or a tuning problem?

Thanks.

This could be caused by a source that was not thoroughly cleaned or some other problems.  Have you ran the standard spectra autotune and if so, what were the ratios of the 69, 219 and 502 masses?

I tried cleaning the source again last night but before I cleaned it the detector tune was saying 38 for 69, 33 for 219 and 1.1 for 502. Everything had passed except the ration of 174 to 95 and it was 25%.

If 69 was not the base mass, that was?  Did you run an air/water check to verify that you did not have a leak and that the moisture was at an acceptable level?
