Dear Ketan,
If the laser power is this low, the first thing that we suspect is that the system is not well aligned, possibly due to contamination of the optical windows. Firstly, you should ask the system to re-align and see what happens. Then if necessary you should open the cell drawer and inspect whether the windows appear to be clean, and remove them for cleaning. If the system will not successfully align after this, we can offer a remote support session through a web browser if your PC is connected to the Internet, or a visit from the local Malvern partner.
This is the link where you can locate your local contact. http://www.malvern.com/en/about-us/contact-us/
Hope that help

Dear Cuibeh,

if you can contact us directly (helpdesk@malvern.com) it may be better, otherwise try manual alignment, to see if the issue comes from the instrument which cannot align properly or if it is a laser power issue.

If you can't align manually, can you tell me if you can hear a "clic" while the background is being measured. If you cannot, it means the laser shutter does not work properly and needs to be readjusted (engineer visit required). If you can properly hear the "clic" but the power remains low it is a laser failure and in this case we would need to change the laser (engineer visit required as well).

I hope it helps,

Séverine
